Photo contest “The beauty and wisdom of nature” is organized under the project “Sustainable Biodiversity”, co-financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009-2014.
The competition aimed to promote biodiversity and in particular the national monitoring system of biodiversity. We believe that capturing and displaying the beauty and wisdom of various elements from nature will give us knowledge of them and will encourage us to love and protect each piece of Earth.
Diana Angelova won a weekend for two at Adventure House “Rusaliite” (rusaliite.bg), vouchers worth 60 lev for the purchase of bio food produced on farms in Western Stara Planina, and 12-month subscription for Economedia’s publication of her choice.
Second place in the contest won Yavor Ivanov with a photo he called “The beauty of the mountain”. The photo shows the meeting of the setting sun with soaring on the horizon slopes of Lyulin Mountain.
Yavor Ivanov won vouchers worth 60 lev for the purchase of bio food produced on farms of Western Balkan and 6-month subscription for Economedia’s publication of his choice.
Third place in the competition won Plamen Dimitrov with photos of wild goats made in the National Park “Rila” over Musala hut. He will receive vouchers worth 60 lev for the purchase of bio food produced at farms of Western Balkan Mountains, and 3-month subscription for Economedia’s publication of his choice.
All three winners will also receive three special editions:
– Issue on Biodiversity focusing on the national monitoring system of biodiversity;
– Issue showing sustainable model of regional development in harmony with nature and tradition as opposed to the aggressive and destructive nature development;
– Issue with useful information on the financing of agri-environment, organic farming and animal welfare through the Program for Rural Development.
The three winners will also receive a birdhouse from F-Pet (http://f-pet.eu/)
