Capital Foundatioan and Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds trained 20 volunteers

Capital Foundation and Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds trained 20 volunteers to monitor two kinds of turtles and a kind of orchid. The two organizations, along with Economedia are partners in the project “Sustainable Biodiversity”, co-financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009-2014 through a program BG03 “Biodiversity and ecosystems”.

The focus of the training was the monitoring of Eurotestudo hermanni and Testudo graeca tortoises and plain orchid (Himantoglossum caprinum). The seminar participants were acquainted with the regional monitoring system for biodiversity, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of working with mobile systems for data collection. The speakers presented and capabilities of the mobile application SmartBirds Pro, then worked on the field. .
