Capital Foundation presented „Sustainable Biodiversity” project “

Capital foundation presented to journalists “Sustainable Biodiversity” project at a press conference. The project is co-financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009-2014 through a program BG03 “Biodiversity and ecosystems”. It is implemented in partnership with Bulgarian Society for protection of birds and Economedia.
“The project aims to raise the awareness and involvement of the community as long as problems related to sustainable development and in particular biodiversity are concerned. The main target group is young people,” summed Lubomir Vassilev, project manager. The project will train 20 volunteers to collect data about the environment and their introduction to the public part of the updated national information system for monitoring biodiversity (NBMS).
In a special online section “Biodiversity” at the popular and reputable site www.dnevnik.bg artricles will be published on topics that inform, analyze and provoke towards promoting the principles of sustainable development. A special edition and a photo competition to promote national monitoring system of biodiversity are also part of the project.
